Between the summer rain showers...
Nice day for a radish.
Clarissa's carrots putting on a good show.
After using the greenhouses as coldframes during spring it was time to get them ready for a summer crop. We planted one up with tomatoes today. Basil will keep them company shortly!

Ruchill Park 5k Run
Great day at the 5k run last Sunday. We helped sow over 100 takeaway veg seed pots, of which sunflower and carrots were most popular. And were pleased to say 30 people were kind enough to take part in our new Local Food Growing Survey. Thanks to all those that came to say hello!

Strawberry Wall
Here it is almost completed.
Dedicated Volunteers.
One of the great ideas to come out of the Greet and Eat in February was make a Strawberry Wall.
We thought it'd be great to transform a bare looking fence into a living (and soon to be very tasty) wall of fruit! We decided to 'upcycle' the plastic pots, kindly donated by Lush, into plant pots. The strawberry plants were then transplanted from a couple of overflowing planters into these new pots. We installed them allowing plenty of room for the plants to trail downwards and at various heights to be enjoyed by all!
Sunny Spring Day
Parsnips are ready to harvest.
A happy plot holder!
Lovely green shoots from the Garlic.

Welcome!
Welcome!
The Concrete Garden is a community space for growing fruit and vegetables in Possilpark, North Glasgow. The garden is located on land reclaimed from industrial use and is designed in a modular system of grow boxes and bags made from recycled materials.
It is the first demonstration site for SAGE (Sow and Grow Everywhere) a visionary initiative led by NVA and ERZ landscape architects, to expand community food growing across Glasgow.
We provide growing space and learning opportunities for local individuals, families and organisations. We're also host to local events such at the Winter COAT festival and used by local community groups for arts activities and therapeutic projects.
If you'd like to join in, you have the opportunity to become involved in many ways:
-You could have your own plot for you and your family.
-Come along to tend a shared plot with your local community group,
-Become a valued volunteer and drop-in to help us maintain the garden.
-Perhaps you are looking for a local venue to hold an event to promote healthy living or run an environmental art or gardening workshop?
Our gardener Paula is here every Friday morning from 10am, to offer green-fingered advice and help you plan what to grow when.
If you'd like more information or would like to pop along to visit the garden please contact:
